Introduction

Located on the stunning Troia Peninsula, framed by sandy beaches and the Atlantic coastline, Troia Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1980. Integrated within the Troia resort, the course is located just minutes from the marina, hotels, a diverse gastronomic offering of restaurants and bars, as well as a range of sports and leisure facilities.

Trent Jones Sr.’s signature design, defined by bold bunkering, elevated greens and doglegs weaving through pine trees and native coastal vegetation, creates a challenging yet engaging layout for golfers of all levels.

The course is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation, expected to last 12 months, aimed at enhancing playing conditions and facilities while preserving its iconic design and legacy. This intervention forms part of a wider transformation of the destination, representing a key step in its elevation and repositioning, with the reopening scheduled for early 2027.

Clubhouse

As part of the ongoing renovation of Troia Golf Course, the clubhouse will also undergo a comprehensive transformation, giving rise to a contemporary space aligned with the destination’s new premium positioning.

Designed to strengthen the connection between the course, the surrounding landscape and the ocean, the new concept will prioritise natural materials, integrated indoor and outdoor areas, and welcoming social spaces conceived for year-round use.

The reception, lounge, bar, terrace and pro shop will coexist in a seamless and harmonious way, creating a more modern, comfortable experience fully aligned with the new identity of Troia.
