Biodiversidade Animal no Troia Golf
A diversidade da fauna de Troia está directamente relacionada com o coberto vegetal, clima, tipo de solo e presença humana. O campo de golfe – TROIA GOLF Championship Course, oferece uma grande variedade de habitats numa área reduzida, tais como pinhais, matos, áreas relvadas, dunas e lagos de água doce, os quais atraem diversas espécies de fauna. Nas aves, destaca-se a Poupa (Upupa epops), frequentemente observada a retirar minhocas e pequenos vermes da relva, dos quais se alimenta e que tem um voo “ondulante” muito característico. No lago, a Galinha-d´água (Gallinula chloropus) é uma presença habitual, nomeadamente na Primavera quando constrói os seus ninhos usando a vegetação das margens.
Na área de pinhal é ainda possível observar no chão, à procura de alimento, a Rola-brava ou Rolacomum (Streptopelia turtur), embora menos habitual do que a Rola-turca (Streptopelia decaocto), que tem vindo a invadir a Europa. O Pisco-de-peito-ruivo (Erithacus rubecula) pode ser observado a saltitar nos relvados ou nos ramos de pinheiros e arbustos. É um pássaro da família dos Tordos, inconfundível pela sua face e peito de um ruivo vivo. A rã-verde (Rana perezi) é muito abundante no lago, sendo o coaxar destes anfíbios um dos sons mais característicos da Primavera e do Verão. De entre os mamíferos, merecem destaque os morcegos, os quais se alimentam incansavelmente de diversos insetos, contribuindo para melhorar a sanidade da floresta e eliminar vetores de doenças.
